Provider Update: November 1, 2019

To: All ADvantage Case Management Providers

Subject: 2020 ADvantage Case Management Orientation Training Schedule

Please find the attached 2020 ADvantage Case Management Orientation Training Schedule, corresponding closing date(s) for enrollment, and New Case Manager Record of Orientation with Checklist due date(s).

(NOTE: the New Case Manager Record of Orientation with Checklist is the form documenting a new Case Manager’s required orientation with the case management agency. The orientation period must occur prior to Case Management Orientation Training, must be a minimum of five (5) days in length, and must include shadowing an experienced ADvantage certified Case Manager in the field.)

Cancellation of Case Management Orientation Training:

A minimum of eight (8) registrants is required to convene Case Management Orientation training); and the maximum number of registrants that will be trained during a session is fifteen (15)). When there are fewer than 8 enrollees, MSU-AA training and development staff will notify registrants of the cancellation prior to the first day of training. Request for enrollment is on a "first come, first scheduled" basis. Those unable to enroll as requested will automatically be scheduled for the next available training unless the requestor otherwise declines.

Alternate Training Week Availability:

When training demands exceed enrollment capacity, the Training and Development Programs Manager will assess the potential for adding or activating an additional training week within the same month. An alternate training week is regularly scheduled but is only activated as necessary. The Training Manager will determine to activate this added session by the last day of each month’s Primary Training Week. (An alternate training week schedule is attached).

Harmony Submission for ADvantage Case Management Orientation Training Request


To submit request registration for ADvantage Case Management Orientation Training:


  • Go into the PQ Chapter and from File click on Add PQ.
  • Fill in the required blanks
  • For Inquiry Category choose Provider Question.
  • For Inquiry Type select Training.
  • Be sure to specify in the Detailed Information box who the Case Manager trainee candidate is, what agency (and as appropriate which branch) they will be assigned to, and the dates of the training class for which you wish for them to be registered.

    For the Status choose Pending

  • Go to File and click Save PQ

  • When Save is Successful you will click OK and then you will get sub-tabs in the left column

  • Click on the Notes sub-tab and on this page hover over File and select Add Note

  • Fill in the required fields on the Notes Detail.

  • For Note Type select CM Candidate Training Request

  • For Status select Pending

  • Add Attachment = attach the candidates resume and any other supporting documentation needed such as licensure verification, diploma, etc.

  • Save and Close Note.

To submit request to consider for ADvantage Case Manager Supervisor or Backup Supervisor:

  • Go into the PQ Chapter and from File click on Add PQ.
  • Fill in the required blanks
  • For Inquiry Category choose Provider Question.
  • For Inquiry Type select Training.

  • Be sure to specify in the Detailed Information box if request is for Case Manager Supervisor or Case Manager Backup Supervisor, what agency (and when appropriate to which branch) they will be assigned to supervise.

  • For the Status choose Pending

  • Go to File and click Save PQ

  • When Save is Successful you will click OK and then you will get sub-tabs in the left column
  • Click on the Notes sub-tab and on this page hover over File and select Add Note
  • Fill in the required fields on the Notes Detail.
  • For Note Type select CM Supervisor Request
  • For Status select Pending
  • Add Attachment = attach the candidates resume and any other supporting documentation needed such as licensure verification, diploma, etc.
  • Save and Close Note.
