Subject: Oklahoma Human Services ADvantage Waiver vs. Medicare Advantage Program

Date: April 13, 2021

Recently, ADvantage Waiver Members have encountered callers stating they are with the Advantage Program and advising they need to setup a meeting to discuss the Member’s current benefits. These calls are generated from Medicare Advantage, not the Oklahoma Home and Community-based ADvantage Waiver.

Please inform assigned Members that after they are certified for the Medicaid ADvantage Waiver by an Oklahoma Human Services (OHS) Eligibility Nurse and assigned to Case Manager and Home Care providers of their choice, ADvantage does not require another in person meeting from an OHS ADvantage employee to discuss their approval or waiver benefits. If someone states they are with Advantage and they need to meet with the Member, please encourage Members to confirm this appointment with their current case manager or an OHS Medicaid Services Unit employee.
