Medicaid Service Update: July 2, 2021

To:  All ADvantage and State Plan Personal Care In-home Service Providers

Subject:  Update – Resuming Home Visits on July 1, 2021

Date:  July 2, 2021

The Medicaid Services Unit (MSU) has received questions over the last several days regarding resuming home visits for ADvantage waiver and State Plan Personal Care Members.  At this time, the plan remains to resume in-home visits as of July 1.  The precautions listed in the initial bulletin (05.18.2021 - MSU Update - Resuming Home Visits to ADvantage Members (002).pdf) should be followed, regardless of vaccination status of the worker or the Member.

The MSU is working to provide an opportunity for vaccination for all waiver Members who would like to receive the vaccine, and to provide vaccine information to those who are hesitant or refuse the vaccine and agree to receive educational material.

Additionally, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has set forth Emergency Temporary Standards for healthcare and healthcare support providers (COVID-19 Healthcare ETS | Occupational Safety and Health Administration (osha.gov)) to protect workers, and has provided updated guidance for other employer types (Protecting Workers: Guidance on Mitigating and Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in the Workplace | Occupational Safety and Health Administration (osha.gov)).  The MSU recommends providers review this information and follow the guidance provided.

As always, we thank you for your service to the vulnerable citizens of Oklahoma.
