Life.Church partners with 111Project to support children in state custody

The 111Project’s implementation of the CarePortal has had a powerful impact on the children and families served by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Welfare Services.
As part of a two-year partnership with the 111Project, Life.Church provided a $20,000 grant to help the CarePortal continue its work in the 10 counties throughout Oklahoma where the CarePortal platform is activated.
“111Project is changing the lives of children in our community by placing them in loving homes through the local church, and we love being able to join them in meeting the needs of children and families in foster care,” said Joey Armstrong, Life.Groups/Life.Missions Pastor, Life.Church Broken Arrow.
On February 23, 2017, DHS staff of Tulsa County celebrated the one-year anniversary of the CarePortal launch and the partnerships with the local faith community through.
“DHS is very excited about the partnership with 111Project’s CarePortal and Life Church,” said Kelli Heath, DHS Tulsa District Director. “This was an amazing event as we celebrated the success of the past year and heard about plans to add additional services to assist the families we serve.”
In the past year, the 111Project’s Care Portal has provided services for over 860 families and almost 2,000 children. The services provided more than $70,000 in resources for Tulsa county families served by DHS.
During this celebration, child welfare workers and supervisors shared their appreciation and stories of families’ lives that were improved because of the partnership with more than 85 churches and small groups in the Tulsa area.
Many churches and other groups from the community were present at the celebration including 111Project, Life.Church, New Beginnings Church in Bixby, Foundations Church, First Baptist Church of Jenks, James Mission of Tulsa, TheChurch.at, Victory Church, The Crossing South Tulsa, Faces with Names, TFI Foster Care, and Saint Francis Children’s Services.
