The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) has named Jim Hutchinson as director of Child Support Services (CSS). He had served as interim director since November 2015. Hutchinson replaces Gary W. Dart who retired last fall.
Hutchinson has been with DHS Child Support Services for 31 years, serving his first 10 years in the dual role of caseworker and investigator for the Lawton CSS office. He spent the next three years on special assignment in the CSS state office before being hired in his most recent role as Programs Process Administrator, a position he held for 18 years. In that role, Hutchinson led the development and maintenance of the CSS automated system and business processes, achieving the goal of a federally certified child support system in 2002. He served on the board of the Oklahoma Child Support Enforcement Association for six years including a turn as board president. Hutchinson is a Certified Public Manager and a Six Sigma Black Belt and has led numerous quality and business process improvement initiatives for the agency.

The budget challenges of the last few months have been difficult, but thanks in large part to our great staff and strong partnerships -- including our relationships with employers, district attorneys, law enforcement and the courts -- I see opportunities for our program and great things to come in our journey ahead."
Hutchinson holds a degree in Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and is a U.S. military veteran. He is married with three sons and three grandchildren.
