News Release
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Support Services shuttered its Tulsa East office in Tulsa today as moving trucks rolled in to transport office furniture and case files to their new home. When Tulsa East Child Support Services reopens tomorrow, it will be inside the Tulsa County 72B DHS building at 3666 N. Peoria.
Tulsa East Child Support Services is one of 15 Child Support Services’ offices around the state that are relocating this fiscal year as part of a DHS cost-cutting measure. The agency came into State Fiscal Year 2017, which began July 1, facing a state funding shortfall of more than $100 million. After two rounds of employee buyouts and a reduction in force which cut nearly 900 positions from the agency, DHS is now reducing its property costs through the closure and consolidation of free-standing Child Support offices.
Customers needing child support assistance during the move may still call Child Support Services at 1-800-522-2922.
