Pottawatomie county office is partnering with local churches, organizations, and businesses to host a Finding Forever Families 5K.
The 5K was developed to recruit foster and adoptive homes for Oklahoma’s children in need of families.
The 5K is on a USA Track and Field certified course. The Fun Run is approximately one mile. People of all ages are encouraged to participate. The event will take place at Heritage Church in Shawnee on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.
The church is located at 2100 North Bryan Avenue, Shawnee, OK 74804.
Runners who register before April 2nd are guaranteed a free T-shirt as part of the registration fee. The cost is $10 for participants in the one mile fun run/walk for ages 12 and older. The price is $25 to participate in the 5K. There is no cost to participate in the one mile fun run/walk for children under the age of 12.

Even if you are not a participant in the race, there will be bouncy houses, sponsor booths, and other fun activities for the entire family. The goal of this event is to call attention to Oklahoma children who are in need of a forever family.
