OKLAHOMA CITY – Quietly over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Support Services (CSS) SMART pay website put into production something it hopes you never notice: the website is now mobile-enabled, making it easier than ever to make child support payments.

The enhancements can be viewed at the Child Support Services SMART pay website ok.smartchildsupport.com.

“When a website is not mobile-enabled, especially a payment site, and you try navigating it on a smart phone, that is something you notice because it doesn’t work correctly for you,” said Jeff Wagner, spokesperson for CSS. “Our new payment site aims for a problem-free experience for the end user that does not depend on a traditional computer, mouse and keyboard. In other words, we hope these are improvements the user will never notice.”

According to a November 2014 Forbes report, in 2015 “mobile-optimization will become more important than ever”. The report adds that we “will see many businesses finally incorporating mobile into all areas of their digital marketing”. Indeed, numerous reports in 2014 saw mobile devices making up thirty percent of Internet traffic and fifteen percent of all Internet sales.

“Mobile SMART pay is just the latest in the amazing range of payment options that Child Support Services has added for its customers over the last two years, and each has seen the addition of new, first time payers,” said Wagner. “This tells us that convenience remains a major contributing factor to parents making on-time child support payments, and we will continue working to reduce parents’ barriers to supporting their children.”
