OKLAHOMA CITY -- Several OKDHS employees were affected by this weekend and Monday’s tornadoes. OKDHS intends to respond in the following ways:
1. Contributions. The Office of Community and Faith Engagement (Sequoyah State Office Building – Room 412) will be coordinating a disaster relief fund. Cash donations will be accepted. Please make checks payable to the OKDHS Volunteer Recognition Fund and mail or deliver to: Ms. Karen Jacobs, Oklahoma Department of Human Services; P.O. Box 25352; Oklahoma City, OK 73125-0352. *Donations accepted through Friday, June 14, 2013.
2. Volunteer Chaplaincy Services and Employee Assistance Programs. For our employees who are coping with family members affected by the disaster, you are encouraged to seek whatever services you believe you may reasonably need from either our Volunteer Chaplains or our Employee's Assistance Program. Information about both programs is on the OKDHS InfoNet or you may contact Chris Lambert in our Human Resources Management Division for help in using these confidential services.
3. Volunteering. We are exploring what, if any, ability we have to accommodate the request. It is our desire to be as constructive in our response as possible. Further details will be forthcoming.
Thank you for your concerns and for your generous response. Please keep these families and employees in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Ed Lake, Director
Oklahoma Department of Human Services
