OKLAHOMA CITY – Project H.E.A.R.T. was given the 2013 Aging Network Partner of the Year Award at the 38th Annual Oklahoma Conference on Aging May 23 in Norman. The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) Aging Services Division (ASD) presents annual Achievement in Aging awards to recognize outstanding service to older Oklahomans.

Project H.E.A.R.T. was recognized, along with the Kiamichi Area Nutrition Project and the Sequoyah-Adair-Cherokee Nutrition Project, for providing nutrition services to seniors in Muskogee, Okmulgee, McIntosh and Wagoner counties with less than 60 days’ notice after the previous nutrition provider canceled its contract. The partnership maintained critical services without interruption and provided quality meals and services to seniors.

OKDHS ASD Director Lance Robertson presented the award at the conference.

“We congratulate Project H.E.A.R.T. on this honor and are grateful for its service and commitment to Oklahoma’s seniors,” Robertson said.
