OKLAHOMA CAPITOL – Oklahoma Child Support Services announced today that $1.5 billion in child support collections have been processed over the last five years. Child support officials will be hosting an anniversary celebration of the Oklahoma Employer Services Center to recognize their partnership with employers in reaching this milestone in serving Oklahoma children and families.

“Employers are an important partner in making sure children receive the child support they need,” said Gary W. Dart, director of Oklahoma Child Support Services.  “We opened the Oklahoma Employer Services Center in 2008 to help employers with their questions about child support.”

An employer deducts wages from an employee paycheck for child support and medical support obligations that an employee has been court-ordered to pay. The Oklahoma Employer Services Center works with employers in completing and processing the related paperwork. Over a million forms have been processed by the Oklahoma Employer Services Center during its five-year history.

The Oklahoma Employer Services Center is one of the few of its kind in the nation. It has served as a model in shaping employer outreach initiatives in child support programs in other states. The Oklahoma Employer Services Center is a collaboration between Oklahoma Child Support Services and the University of Oklahoma Center for Public Management.

The anniversary celebration is Jan. 23, 2013, 1 - 4 p.m. at the Oklahoma Employer Services Center, 3814 North Santa Fe Avenue in Oklahoma City. There will be a special presentation at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served. RSVP at www.okesc.org under the employer outreach tab.
