OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Oklahoma Fathers Rock ‘n Role Conference on Thursday, June 21 is a statewide gathering of community and faith-based service providers engaged in fatherhood and family-focused programs. Moore Norman Technology Center, 13301 S. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City will host the conference 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The conference will include “Never Knew a Father’s Love” dramatic presentation; statewide vision casting by Calvin Williams, Public Strategies Director of Fatherhood Services; conversations with other states fatherhood practitioners; as well as defining the strategic plan to move forward with an Oklahoma fatherhood initiative.
The conference is part of a continuing effort to solve problems and achieve new levels of positive outcomes for children, families and communities in Oklahoma. The evidence and research indicates that men in their fathering role have immeasurable impact on children’s growth and development as well as family and community well-being. Family and child-serving practitioners, programs, institutions and stakeholders are invited to attend to think, share and plan for a clear, collaborative statewide agenda for an Oklahoma focus on fathers.
The event is free with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.; lunch is provided. Pre-registration is required by June 18 at www.faithlinksok.org on events/campaign page.
