OKLAHOMA CITY -- In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the 22nd annual "Kids Day in the Park" fundraiser will be held at the Ardmore Central Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 21, 2012. The park is located in downtown Ardmore. The event is open to the public and proceeds benefit the Carter County Child Abuse Prevention Fund.

The event is designed to provide education about child abuse prevention and help provide the public with information about available family support services in Carter County.

Activities include a popular rock climbing wall, an obstacle course, a moon bounce, face-painting, a bean bag toss and basketball. A photo booth, complete with Harley Davidson motorcycles, will be on-site and photos of children sitting on the motorcycles can be purchased. Other items for sale include T-shirts and visors. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 and prizes include a variety of gifts donated by area merchants as well as a $200 gift certificate from Wal-Mart. Local talent from area schools will provide musical entertainment throughout the day.

A variety of community agencies will have information booths on display and Platinum, Corporate and Donor sponsorships are available. All sponsors will be recognized on a display board at the park and Corporate and Platinum sponsors will be recognized on-air by several radio stations who will broadcast live from the park during the fundraiser.

For more information about the event or to become a sponsor, call Shirley Barrick with the OKDHS Carter County office at (580) 490-6060 or Pam Cox at (580) 490-6061.
