OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Tulsa Advocates for the Protection of Children (TAPC) Resource Center will host an open house Tuesday, September 27, from 3:30 – 6 p.m. at 3722 E. 51st Street in Tulsa’s Country Club Plaza. The Resource Center is a joint project of TAPC and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services/Tulsa County Child Welfare.
TAPC celebrates its one-year anniversary as a one-of-a-kind distribution center, focusing on the needs of Tulsa County children in the foster care system.
“More than 1,000 children, from infants to age 18 were served during the first year of operation," said Maura Browne, OKDHS Resource Volunteer/Coordinator. "Children received items such as school supplies, school uniforms, infant items, winter coats, toys, books, personal hygiene items--even furniture and bedding."
TAPC is open two days each week from 1 – 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, and from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursdays. Public donations are also received during those hours.
The public is invited to attend Tuesday’s open house. For additional information, phone (918) 619-2329.
