Happy Mother's Day from Oklahoma Child Support Services

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Most people tend to think of fathers as the parents paying child support, but Oklahoma Child Support Services is recognizing 712 mothers this weekend as “good paying customers.”
With more than 171,000 parents owing child support, approximately 15 percent are female, a number often overlooked. Good paying customers are non-custodial parents who are current in their court ordered payment of child support.

“Our mission is the promotion of healthy families,” said Gary W. Dart, OCSS administrator. “Healthy families need reliable resources, and having a reliable source of financial support is one very critical resource.”

Oklahoma Child Support Services is a division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. To promote healthy families, OCSS establishes, monitors and enforces reliable support while encouraging self-sufficiency and strengthening relationships. The division is responsible for more than 196,000 active child support cases, collecting approximately $300 million a year on behalf of children and families.
