OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- An associate professor of economics at UCLA will be the featured speaker in the next installment of the OKDHS Lecture Series.  Adriana Lleras-Muney, Ph.D., will present “Education and Health: What Do We Know?” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Public Health, a partner in this lecture, in Room 150.  A complimentary light lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m.
Lleras-Muney received her Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University. For seven years she was an assistant professor of economics in the Department of Economics and the Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public Affairs at Princeton University.

Her research examines the relationships between socio-economic status (in particular, education) and health; the effect of disease on income and economic development; and the determinants of fertility. She is also a faculty fellow at the California Center for Population Research and the National Bureau of Economic Research.

All lectures are free and open to the public. This year-long series provides thought-provoking presentations by experts in their fields on Oklahoma’s emerging policy issues, trends and best practices.
