OKDHS Aging Services Employee Named to National Commission

OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) Aging Services Division (ASD) employee has been named to a national commission.  Kelli Davidson, who works in the OKDHS-ASD Home and Community Based Services unit, was appointed Commissioner for the National Credential Governance Commission.  It is sponsored by the Direct Care Alliance (DCA) in New York City.  DCA is a national advocacy voice for direct care workers in long-term care.

 “I am excited to work alongside eight other commissioners from around the nation,” Davidson said. “Our duties are to oversee the Personal Support Credential process which includes test writing, construction, validation, administration, scoring and any related procedures.”

The volunteer commissioners serve three-year staggered terms, with a maximum of two full terms. The commission holds monthly teleconference meetings and an annual meeting.

“Kelli has an extensive background in health care, social work and aging services. The commission made a great choice in selecting a worthy advocate,” said Tom Dunning, ASD Programs Administrator.

A resident of Norman, Davidson began her OKDHS career 17 years ago as a social work assistant in the Muskogee County office. She moved to the Cleveland County office in 1999 and was promoted in 2000 to manage the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-formerly “Food Stamps”) nutrition education program. Davidson has held her current position since 2004.
