OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services 2009 Annual Report received an award of excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators Southern Region. The IABC Southern Region Silver Quill awards were presented on Oct. 29 in Atlanta. OKDHS received the top award in the publications/annual reports category.
The awards competition showcases excellence in communications work by organizations, businesses and agencies in IABC’s Southern Region, which includes Caribbean nations and 14 U.S. states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Judges from across the U.S. evaluated entries on strategy, effectiveness and creativity.
The Fiscal Year 2009 Annual Report (.pdf, 39 pp, 6.6 MB) was a collaboration of the OKDHS Office of Planning, Research and Statistics, Office of Communications and Design Services. Contributors to the award-winning project included Connie Schlittler, Millie Carpenter and Loretta Cao, OPRS; Mary Leaver and Lauri Monetti, Communications; Beth Scott, Children and Family Services Division; and Katherine Leidy, David Kim, Caroline Miller and Kyle Chaufty, Design Services.
