OKLAHOMA CAPITOL— Jae-Ann Carder, case manager II, and Jonnie F. Morse, social services specialist II, both with the Craig County Human Services Center, are set to receive the OKDHS Commission Spirit of Service Award at 2 p.m., Nov. 10 at the Craig County Human Services Center, 310 N. Wilson, Vinita.

Commissioner Aneta F. Wilkinson, vice chairman and rules committee chair, Tulsa, will present the Spirit of Service Award. Wilkinson spearheaded the creation of the Spirit of Service Award which first recognized an OKDHS staff member earlier this fall.

Carder was nominated for her compassion and service of more than 20 years in the developmental disabilities community.

“Jae-Ann goes out of her way to provide great customer service. Recently, she stayed with a client’s disabled child while the mother needed to go to the emergency room following an accident,” stated Carder’s nomination.

Morse was nominated for her extensive work in pairing community resources with client needs.

“Jonnie has developed extraordinary camps several times each year that have included horseback therapy, swimming and touring an exotic animal facility,” stated Morse’s nomination.

The Spirit of Service Award was initiated by the Oklahoma Commission for Human Services in an effort to recognize outstanding employees or employee teams who embody customer service and exemplify excellence, respect, knowledge, resourcefulness, kindness, availability, compassion and helpfulness. Nominations are sent in by OKDHS staff for consideration by the Commission, and typically recognize one team or individual in their hometown on a monthly basis.
