OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The 15th Annual Oklahoma Department of Human Services Quality Award and Employee Recognition Awards ceremony and reception was held May 5 at the Clarion Meridian Conference Center in Oklahoma City during National Public Employees Recognition Week.
The ceremony recognized individual and team employee efforts to improve the services to the citizens of Oklahoma across the state over the past year. Employees were nominated by their co-workers and supervisors for Best of the Best Awards with 141 employees recognized for their individual accomplishments. Teams submitted projects to be judged by a third party team of volunteer judges for the Quality Awards. There were 11 Quality Award and 22 Honorable Mention teams recognized for improving services and processes within the agency projects that saved millions of taxpayer dollars.
Oklahoma Commission for Human Services Commissioner Aneta Wilkinson and Joe Doherty, executive vice president and group president for ACS Government Solutions were among the special guests at the event. ACS and OKDHS are scheduled to receive one of seven national awards from Forbes this summer for forging one of the top public-private partnerships in the nation.
