OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- First Lady Kim Henry will be presented the Outstanding Woman of the Year Award at the second annual Women’s Leadership Conference for Women in Public Service. Gov. Brad Henry will also be on hand to present and read a proclamation declaring March “Women’s History Month” during the afternoon session.  The conference will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., March 12 at the Reed Center, 5750 Will Rogers Road, Midwest City, Okla. 
Registration for the conference is closed and nearly 500 Oklahoma women are expected to attend the all-day conference. Conference speakers include keynote addresses by former State Sen. Angela Monson, Carolyn Stager and Mrs. Oklahoma 2009 Heather Rouba along with other prominent female state leaders who will discuss leadership roles in public service for women. The conference is geared toward women in public service and students who are interested in developing their leadership skills, advancing their careers and networking with other women.

Conference sponsors include the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Oklahoma Office of Personnel Management and the University of Oklahoma Center for Public Management. This conference is part of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Planning, Research and Statistics Practice and Policy Lecture Series. The yearlong series provides thought-provoking presentations by experts in their fields on Oklahoma’s emerging policy issues, trends and best practices.
