Swaminathan to discuss the future of technology

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Kishore Swaminathan, Ph.D., will open a dialog on the major trends defining technology and government at noon, Feb. 18 at the Oklahoma History Center, 2401 N. Laird Ave., Oklahoma City.
Swaminathan will explore how the trends enable organizations to become elastic in how they operate.

Swaminathan is the chief scientist for Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. He defines Accenture’s technology vision and helps set their technology and research agenda. He also directly heads their systems integration research in Chicago, Ill., Silicon Valley, Calif., Sophia Antipolis, France and Bangalore, India.

Holding a bachelor’s degree of technology in aeronautical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology at Madras, Swaminathan also holds a master’s and doctorate in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

The next Practice and Policy Lecture Series will feature John Hockenberry, a freelance reporter and writer. Hockenberry will discuss how words matter when eliminating stereotypes March 8.

All lectures are sponsored by Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Planning, Research and Statistics and University of Oklahoma Center for Public Management. In addition, this lecture is sponsored by OKDHS Data Services Division. This yearlong series provides thought-provoking presentations by experts in their fields on Oklahoma’s emerging policy issues, trends and best practices.
