OKLAHOMA CAPITOL— John Brack, child welfare specialist II in the Blaine County Human Services Center, will receive the OKDHS Commission Spirit of Service Award at X p.m., Dec. XX at the Blaine County Human Services Center, 410 W. Main St., Watonga.
Commissioner Aneta F. Wilkinson, vice chairman and rules committee chair, Tulsa, will present the Spirit of Service Award. Wilkinson spearheaded the creation of the Spirit of Service Award which first recognized an OKDHS staff member earlier this fall.
Brack works with youth in state custody to help them succeed after they leave state care. He was nominated for consistently going beyond what is expected by keeping in touch with youth after they have left state custody, just in case they should need his assistance again.
“He meets with them personally and provides them with a protected data disk and USB drive containing information that can be downloaded for later use. John provides photos of the child and scans any document or photo the child feels is important so they can be forever preserved.” stated Brack's nomination.
He also serves as the Area I diligent searcher, independent living liaison and agency resource coordinator.
The Spirit of Service Award was initiated by the Oklahoma Commission for Human Services in an effort to recognize outstanding employees or employee teams who embody customer service and exemplify excellence, respect, knowledge, resourcefulness, kindness, availability, compassion and helpfulness. Nominations are sent in by OKDHS staff for consideration by the Commission, and typically recognize one team or individual in their hometown on a monthly basis.
