OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Lorrie Lutz, M.P.P., will open a dialog on child welfare practice standards and the practice model at noon, Sept. 28 at the Oklahoma History Center, 2401 N. Laird Ave., Oklahoma City.
Lutz is the president of L3P Associates, a consulting firm specializing in enhancing the quality of social services. Lutz has been working with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for the past couple of years on the Child Welfare Practice Standards and Practice Model. She will discuss how to communicate better with families during the safety assessment of children and placement decisions for out-of-home care.
The next Practice and Policy Lecture Series will feature Scott Stanly, Ph.D., a research professor and co-director of the Center for Marital and Family Studies at the University of Denver. Stanley will discuss emerging patterns in romantic relationships Oct. 6.
All lectures are sponsored by Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Planning, Research and Statistics and University of Oklahoma Center for Public Management. In addition, this lecture is sponsored by OKDHS Children and Family Services Division and Field Operations Division. This yearlong series provides thought-provoking presentations by experts in their fields on Oklahoma’s emerging policy issues, trends and best practices. The lectures are free and open to the public.
