OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Organizers are expecting 300 to 400 attendees at the 12th Annual Oklahoma Latino Heritage Celebration: My Culture My Life/Mi Cultural Mi Vida. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 1 at the Oklahoma City Public Farmers Market Auditorium at 311 S. Klein.
Scheduled to appear are traditional Latin dance performances given by Columbus Elementary Dance Group, Capital Hill High School Latino Dance Company, Northwest Classen High School JROTC and
Oklahoma City Salseros.

In honor of the celebration, Ubaldo Martinez, sports director KTUZ-TV30, will serve as guest speaker at the event. 

Students who entered the Latino Heritage Essay Contest from the Language and Cultural Department of the Oklahoma City Public Schools will receive awards for their submissions.

Admission is free and open to the public, and a free authentic Latin lunch will be provided by Cocina De Mino Mexican Restaurant.

The Latino Heritage Celebration is the largest state-sponsored event recognizing the contributions of Hispanic Americans to the state and is sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Oklahoma City Public Schools and the Latino Community Development Agency.
