OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- A group of about 40 Edmond mothers collected more than 500 stuffed animals from friends and neighbors and donated them to two local groups who work with children in need.
Mothers of PreSchoolers at the First Presbyterian Church in Edmond worked with Stuffed Animals for Emergencies and its director Jennifer Alloy during a month-long drive to collect animals and dolls donated to Infant Crisis Services in Oklahoma City and OKDHS Child Welfare foster care services.
Amanda Daum, a member of MOPS, and her 5-year-old daughter are washing, drying and repairing the gently used donations.
Any unsalvageable donations will be given to the Edmond Animal Shelter for use with dogs and cats waiting for adoption.
