OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- As summer vacation winds down, The Oklahoma Department of Human Services is preparing to host a free community event to help students return to class with all the back-to-school supplies they need.
From 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 15, at the OKDHS Rockwell Human Services Center at 7201 N.W. 10th St., students age 5 and older can receive free backpacks and school supplies, immunizations, health and vision screenings and iris scans. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

A therapy horse and therapy dogs will be on hand, as will representatives of the Oklahoma City Police and Oklahoma City Fire departments. Art and family activities are also planned. Free food and refreshments also will be available.
