OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Oklahoma Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives welcomes Robin Jones as the new director. Gov. Frank Keating created the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in 2001 to encourage faith-based initiatives throughout Oklahoma.
“This opportunity to serve the faith community, those in need in our communities, and my home state is quite an honor and something I am personally and professionally passionate about,” said Jones. “Sometimes the needs and challenges can seem overwhelming and intimidating, but I am convinced, with synergistic and strategic approaches, remarkable things can be accomplished for the greater good.”
A long-time Oklahoma resident, Jones most recently served as the marketing director for wiredparish.com, a Christian podcasting network based in Oklahoma City. Jones also served as the national promotions and marketing director for Moody Broadcasting Network, a radio network with more than 30 stations and a full-time radio program network. She also worked as the general manager for Bott Radio Network’s Oklahoma media properties.
Jones has been involved in the community through board affiliations with Youth Cornerstone, a crime prevention and positive intervention program facilitated through the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office; Oklahoma Family Policy Council; and Oklahoma Prison Fellowship. National affiliations include Joni and Friends Disability Ministry and National Religious Broadcasters.
