OKDHS Aging Services Announces Living Longer, Living Stronger Local Project Funding

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL --- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Aging Services Division announces the letting of grant awards for federal fiscal years 2006-2009 pursuant to the OKDHS Aging Services State Plan for administering Title IV of the Federal Older Americans Act.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant funds in the amount of $850,000 over three years are available to support the Living Stronger, Living Longer program. The program helps Oklahoma seniors age 60 and older manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes and heart disease through lifestyle and behavioral changes.

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements specified in the Older Americans Act of 1965, Section 305, as amended. In general, eligible applicants include established offices on aging and certain public or non-profit private agencies established for the purpose of planning and providing a broad range of services for the elderly.

The application process will include submitting a detailed proposal.
