OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Douglas P. Doe has been named to lead the Oklahoma Department of Human Services new Web Content Management unit.
Doe will oversee day-to-day Web site content management operations for the OKDHS Internet and Intranet Web sites. The unit’s team will implement a single brand and appearance and help plan and communicate the long-term Web strategy for the Department.

“OKDHS.org is the largest publication of the Department and the information about our programs and services must be current, useful and easy to find. We are pleased to have Doug take on these duties,” Director of Communications George Earl Johnson, Jr., said. “In addition to his experience as a journalist, Doug has a tremendous amount of expertise in building, maintaining and cultivating Web content offerings. I believe his leadership will help ensure the quality of our online information.”

Prior to being named as manager of the unit, Doe served as a public information specialist in the OKDHS Office of Communications for more than two years. Doe planned and organized the re-design of the award-winning Office of Communications Web presence in 2004, and he has a wealth of public and private sector Web site content development and management experience.

“This is an exciting challenge,” Doe said. “We’re not only implementing new technology to improve the information available on OKDHS.org to clients and customers, but we’re also trying to improve the internal flow of information so that we allow our site visitors to connect with the Department’s programs and services.”

Doe has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and history from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He has been married to his wife, Lynne, for 11 years.
