OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Aging Services Division announces that grant awards are being let for state fiscal year 2007 pursuant to the division’s State Plan for administering Titles III and VII of the Federal Older Americans Act.
Approximately $26.2 million are available to support Oklahoma’s 11 Area Agencies on Aging, the myriad of programs they offer such as elderly nutrition and supportive services and family caregiver support projects sub-granted through the area agencies.
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements specified in the Older Americans Act of 1965, Section 305, as amended. In general, eligible applicants include established offices on aging and certain non-profit private agencies established for the purpose of planning and providing a broad range of services to older persons.
The application process includes submitting a detailed Area plan for the period beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007. The plan must include objectives, goals, action steps, assurances, resources allocation plan and a management plan.
