OKLAHOMA CAPITOL --- Toy O’Brien, a 27-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, has been named director of the OKDHS Creek County office.
“I'm pleased to have Ms. O'Brien join the Area VI leadership team,” said Stephen R. Scott, OKDHS Area VI director.
O'Brien began her career in Pittsburg County as an eligibility worker in medical services. She transferred to Creek County in 1979 and continued to work in Family Support Services. She was promoted to supervisor in 1990.
“The Creek County office is my home,” said O’Brien. “It’s been an easy transition for me and the staff. I know everybody and everybody knows me. It’s business as usual.”
O'Brien graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology. She received her teaching certificate in social studies in 1976. She is also a Certified Public Manager.
O'Brien and her husband, Rick, live in Sapulpa. They have three children: Tara Howard, Erin O'Brien and Kevin O’Brien.
