Human Services to Offer Energy Crisis Assistance Beginning March 21

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Centers across the state will begin taking applications for the ENERGY CRISIS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ECAP beginning March 21. Applications will be taken until available funding is expended.
To be eligible, households must either have had service discontinued or terminated by their heating supplier, have a notice of scheduled cut-off within 72 hours, notice of refusal to provide additional fuel when fuel will likely be depleted within 72 hours or information regarding a fee for new connection.

The amount that will be paid is the amount necessary to maintain, restore or attain service up to a maximum of $100 for a one-person household and up to $150 for a household of two or more persons.

Prospective applicants must bring their household’s latest heating bill or 72-hour cut-off notice and income information. This will speed up the application process.
