OKLAHOMA CAPITOL --- Carolyn McDaniel, a 27-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, has been named Family Support Services supervisor in the Muskogee County office.
“Area V is proud to have Carolyn in this position,” said Area V Director Judy Ann Wyatt. “We welcome her talents and skills and wish her much success.”
McDaniel began her career with the State of Oklahoma at Oklahoma Children's Center in Taft, Okla., in 1978 as a youth guidance specialist. She later transferred to Tulsa County OKDHS in May 1985 as a social worker assistant working in the Aid to Families and Dependent Children unit.
McDaniel then transferred to Muskogee County in 1988 where she has worked several programs. In 2002, McDaniel was added to the newly formed Customer Service Unit where eligibility is determined for various programs.
“I am very excited about getting this promotion,” said McDaniel, “and I look forward to continue helping individuals and families in need for Muskogee County.
McDaniel, who graduated from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, has two children, Angela and Elmer, and two grandchildren, India and Bobby. She serves as the minister of music at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Muskogee.
