BARTLESVILLE ---The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Washington County Human Services Center honored 73 organizations and individuals this week during its 2005 Volunteer Recognition Ceremony. This year’s luncheon theme was: “Lights! Camera! Action! Volunteer!”
Thirty-six individuals and organizations attended the awards luncheon held at the Bartlesville Public Library.
OKDHS County Director Arvella L. Donahue said, “To us they are all stars. With their volunteer efforts, we were able to deliver a considerable amount of services to citizens in the community that would not have been delivered without their help.
“These volunteers give of their time, talent and money in assisting OKDHS employees. Their efforts help us meet our mission to the community, which is ‘to help individuals and families in need help themselves lead safer, healthier, more independent and productive lives.’ They truly deserve honor for outstanding service to their fellow citizens in Washington County.”
