OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Child Support Enforcement Division, in conjunction with legislative and community partners, will host two events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 29, at the Metro Tech campus, located at 1900 N. Springlake Drive, Oklahoma City.
The first event will be a Teen Pregnancy Awareness Summit entitled, “Reality: One Night, What is the Cost?” This summit will provide teens with a real-life understanding of the time, money and emotion invested in becoming a parent. The summit will be emceed by KVSP radio personality Eddie Brasco and will also include performances by local rap and R&B artists.
The second event will be a Metro Area Job Fair. Lack of reliable employment is a common barrier to non-custodial parents trying to provide for their families. The job fair will provide attendees with an opportunity to network with 35 employers from the Oklahoma City area accepting applications for employment.
The OKDHS Child Support Enforcement Division hopes that these events will provide prevention where possible and support where necessary.
