OKLAHOMA CAPITOL --- The Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is co-sponsoring a grassroots grant writer training workshop titled “Accessible Funding For Compassionate Ministry: Resources You Can Get A Hold Of” from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Crossings Community Church, located at 14600 N. Portland Ave. in Oklahoma City.
The one-day workshop is designed to give nonprofit organizations specifics about grant writing that they can take home and put to work. It will provide hands-on methods for increasing resources so that participants can begin to make immediate progress in ministry development in Oklahoma. The workshop is designed to help put faith-based resources quickly within an organization’s grasp.

The Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is working in partnership with We Care America’s professional trainers. We Care America’s mission is to unify, equip and enable faith-based organizations to more effectively serve the disadvantaged in their communities. The organization’s objective is to assist with providing resources to help ministries expand and grow.

David Mills, director, We Care America National Grant Center, will present the workshop. He holds graduate degrees in social science and public administration, provides training for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and has created highly noted training for faith-based community service settings since 1998. As a result of Mills’ grant writing expertise, We Care America was recently announced as one of the recipients of the Compassion Capital Fund.

Cost of the workshop (including training, materials and lunch) is $125. For more information and registration, please contact Jennifer Mills, We Care America National Grant Center, at (661) 323-1455 or e-mail her at jmills@wecareamerica.org. To register online, surf to http://wecareamerican.com/.
