OKLAHOMA CAPITOL --- Gale Sipes, a 29-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, and Director of the OKDHS Human Services Center in Haskell County will now pull double-duty when he takes over as administrator of the OKDHS office in McIntosh County.
“Gale is a quality person who’s spent a big part of his life serving the people of Oklahoma,” said Judy Ann Wyatt, OKDHS Area V Director. “His calm, steady approach paired with his dedication to public service makes him the perfect person to take on the task of managing two counties.”
Sipes began his career with OKDHS as a Family Support Worker in Muskogee County before serving as a Family Support Programs Supervisor. He was later named Director of the OKDHS office in Haskell County.
“Working in both counties is a challenge I wanted to take on,” said Sipes. “I enjoy working with the clients and I feel like we’re winning when we can help them make their lives better.”
Sipes graduated from Oktaha High School and earned a bachelor’s in Education from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah.
When he’s not working, Sipes and his wife of 39 years, Janet, like to spend time with their grandchildren Hunter, 8 and Jennifer, 11.
