OKLAHOMA CAPITOL --- Pat Bain, a 36-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, and Director of the OKDHS Human Services Center in McClain County, will now pull double-duty when she takes over administration of the OKDHS office in Garvin County.
“Pat is easily one of the most tried and tested county directors in Area II,” said Debbie Williams, OKDHS Area II Director. “I have no doubt that she’s up to the challenge of taking on two counties and I’m confident she’ll do an excellent job.”
Bain began her OKDHS career as a stenographer at the Northern Oklahoma Resource Center in Enid. She later transferred to Logan County where she was promoted to caseworker before becoming family support supervisor. She later transferred to Garfield County before being named director of the OKDHS office in Grant County. She later served as director for the OKDHS offices in Major and Blaine counties before coming to McClain County.
“Since taking over administration of Garvin County, I will continue to work with staff to provide services and commitment to the clients and community,” said Bain. “I intend to do everything I can to support them and work to help them meet their high standards of OKDHS.”
Since coming to McClain County, Bain has completed the Certified Public Managers Program through the State Office of Personnel Management, which has enhanced her skills in meeting the needs of the community.
Bain’s husband of 37 years, Eddie, works in insurance sales. They have two children, Justin, 30, and Tricia, 27. They’re also the proud grandparents of three grandchildren, Austin, 8, William, 6 and Kathryn, 1.
