OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Lynn Childers, a 21-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS), has been named Director of the OKDHS office in Bryan County.
"Lynn has spent the last two decades serving the needs of the people of Oklahoma," said Bill Wilson, OKDHS Area IV Director. "She is a great person and I know she will work to continue the high standards of service set by the Bryan County staff."

Childers began her career with OKDHS as a Social Worker in Pushmataha County before serving as a Social Services Supervisor in Washington County. She later went on to serve as the Director for the OKDHS office in Johnston County.

"I’m very excited about this new opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with the Bryan County OKDHS staff and community partners," said Childers. "In these times of budget restraints, it takes all community partners working together to meet the needs of our customers. By working together we can provide the best quality services to the people in our community."

Childers graduated from Antlers High School and earned a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant.

Childers’ husband, Gaylin, is a Family Support Services Supervisor at the OKDHS office in Coal County. She has two children, Sean, 25, who lives in Bartlesville, and Melissa, 22, a student at the University of Oklahoma, Norman.
