OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Jan Stower, a 20-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and Director of the OKDHS office in Marshall County, will now pull double-duty when she takes over administration of the OKDHS office in Johnston County.
"Jan is a quality person with two decades worth of experience serving the people of southern Oklahoma," said Bill Wilson, Area IV Director. "I’m confident she will give the folks in Johnston County the same level of compassion and personal attention she’s known for."

Stowers began her career with OKDHS as a Social Worker in Johnston County before serving as a Social Services Supervisor in Marshall County. She then went on to serve as the County Director for the OKDHS office in Marshall County.

"This is sort of like going back to my roots since I began my career in public service in Johnston County," said Stowers. "I know that taking on two counties is a challenge, but with the help of the great staff at both offices, it’s a challenge I know I’m up to."

Stowers graduated from Byng High School and earned a bachelor’s in Physical Education from East Central University, Ada.

Stower’s husband of 10 years, Richard, works as a professional horse trainer. She has one son, Jared, 15, a student at Madill High School.
