George Earl Johnson Jr. - OKDHS Office of Communications
OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Rebecca Thulin, a 10-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS), was named Director of the OKDHS office in Ottawa County.
"I’m very pleased to welcome Rebecca to the Area V leadership team," said Judy Wyatt, Area V Director. "She has been a champion of families and children throughout her career and will continue to work hard for the people of Ottawa County."
Thulin began her OKDHS career as a Family Support worker in Ottawa County. She later served as a Child Welfare worker before being promoted to Child Welfare Supervisor.
"I am very excited about this opportunity," said Thulin. "I hope to work with the staff here to ensure that we continue to provide excellent services to the citizens of Ottawa County and maintain an environment where people feel comfortable seeking services from OKDHS."
Thulin graduated from Miami High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Pittsburg State University, Kansas, and later received her master’s in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma.
Thulin serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Crisis Center, Inc., which provides services to victims of domestic violence in Ottawa, Craig and Delaware counties. She also works with the Partnership for Ottawa County Youth, which works to identify and meet the service needs of youth in Ottawa County.
Thulin’s husband, Russell, works as an automotive technician. They have two children, Jared, 15, and Matthew, 11.
