Oklahoma Capitol -- Joe Bray, a 21-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, has been named Director of the OKDHS office in Pittsburg County.
OKDHS Area IV Director Alice Foran said, "We are very pleased to have Joe Bray back in Pittsburg County. Joe brings more than 20 years of knowledge and experience with him and will be an asset to the family of Area IV County Directors."

Bray began his career with OKDHS as a social worker in Pittsburg County before moving on to work as a family support services supervisor. He then served as a family support and child welfare senior supervisor. He served as the Pontotoc County Director for one year before accepting the position as OKDHS Area IV field liaison, which covered 15 counties in southeastern Oklahoma.

"I’m excited about the opportunity to work with the staff here to provide the best services possible to the citizens of Pittsburg County," said Bray. "I hope to always maintain an environment where people will feel comfortable in coming to OKDHS in their time of need and know they will be treated with respect and dignity by each employee. We have a great staff here and I look forward to working with them for many years to come."

Bray graduated from Quinton High School, and earned Bachelor’s degrees in economics and business administration from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah.

Bray enjoys playing golf and is active in the Boy Scouts of America and helps coach his children’s baseball teams.

Bray’s wife, Yvette, teaches third grade. They have four children, Amanda, 13, T.J., 11, Taylor, 8, and Spencer, 5.
