OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Connie S. Caughman, a 16-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, has been named Programs Field Representative for Area V.
"Connie is a quality person with years of experience, a great personality and a good heart," said Judy Ann Wyatt, Area V Director. "I know she’ll do great things serving in her new capacity".
Caughman began her career with OKDHS as a social worker assistant in Sequoyah County. Caughman has also held the positions of social worker I, social worker II, job developer and family support supervisor. Before taking on her new role, Caughman served as the quality assurance coordinator for Area V, which consists of 16 counties in northeastern Oklahoma. Prior to coming to work for the department, Caughman taught social studies at Arkoma High School, Arkoma, Oklahoma.
"I’m really looking forward to this new challenge," said Caughman. "Area V is moving into comprehensive case management. Comprehensive case management is an effort to better serve our clients and will enable us to provide services in a more efficient and timely manner. A way to view this concept is to visualize one worker per household. This one worker will provide all needed Family Support Services for the household."
Caughman graduated from Central High School in Sallisaw. She earned her associate degree from Conners State College, Warner, and later earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah.
Caughman and her husband, Wayne, have a son, Jerry, 20, a student at Carl Albert College, Poteau.
