OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Deborah Slater, an 11-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, has been named Area III Family Support Field Liaison.
"We are very happy to have Deborah as part of the Area III team," said OKDHS Area III Director Debbie Sexton. "Her energy and dedication to public service make her an asset to the agency."
Slater began her OKDHS career as a social worker in Cleveland County before becoming a Social Services Supervisor in Oklahoma County. She later served as an Administrative Programs Officer for the Family Support Services Division.
"I’m very excited to have this opportunity to work more closely with our staff in the county office," said Slater. "These are the people whose work is absolutely essential for this agency to fulfill its mission. I want to provide the support, training and information our field office staff need to help families achieve self-sufficiency."
Slater graduated from Carmen-Dacoma High School near Alva, and earned her bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s in sociology from the University of Texas. She also studied sociology at the University of Notre Dame.
