Deloris Ferguson Named to Oklahoma County OKDHS Post

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Deloris Ferguson, a 16-year veteran of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, has been named Oklahoma County Director for Children and Family Services. Ferguson replaces outgoing director Margaret Noble who now works in Client Advocacy at the State Office level.
OKDHS Area III Director Debbie Sexton said, "Deloris has dedicated her career to protecting and caring for children and she will make an excellent addition to our staff of County Directors in Area III."

Ferguson began her OKDHS career as a social worker in Pawnee, Lincoln and Cleveland Counties before serving as a Social Services Supervisor in Lincoln County. She also worked as a Senior Social Services Supervisor and Assistant County Director in Oklahoma County.

"This is a monumental challenge," said Ferguson, "but I’m proud to be working with those on the front line who, day-in and day-out, help those children who have been abused and neglected."

Ferguson graduated from Newkirk High School and earned her Bachelors in Physical Education and a Masters in Counseling from Oklahoma State University.

Ferguson is a licensed Marital and Family Therapist and currently serves as a member of the OKDHS Child Welfare Summit Task Force. In her spare time, she enjoys golf, bowling and coaching her children in sports.

Ferguson’s husband of 18 years, Lonnie, works as a Civil Engineer for the City of Norman. They have two sons, Darren, 15, and Derek, 16.
