Oklahoma Human Services is Oklahoma's largest state agency and provides a wide range of assistance programs helping Oklahomans in need. Programs include:  food benefits (SNAP); temporary cash assistance (TANF); services for persons with developmental disabilities and persons who are aging; adult protective services; child welfare programs; child support services; and child care assistance, licensing and monitoring. Oklahoma Human Services also handles applications and eligibility for Sooner Care, the state’s Medicaid program offering health care to families with low incomes.


Adult and Family Services

Adult and Family Services provides access to programs and services that actively support safety, health, independence and productivity for children, adults, and families at risk or in need.

Child Care Services

Child Care Licensing helps ensure trained supervision, nutrition and education for children while their parents or caregivers are at work, in training or receiving an education. Child Care Subsidy manages contracts with providers who receive subsidy payments.

Community Living, Aging and Protective Services

Community Living, Aging and Protective Services is dedicated to developing systems that support independence and quality of life for older Oklahomans and protecting vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Developmental Disabilities Services

Developmental Disabilities Services serves persons ages 3 and up who have a primary diagnosis of intellectual disabilities. Persons served may also have other developmental disabilities in addition to intellectual disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, etc.

Office for Civil Rights

The Office for Civil Rights monitors compliance with federal and state laws that prohibit discrimination involving clients, vendors and employees. The office also responds to client, vendor and employee requests for reasonable accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
