WILDFIRES IMPACTING STATE
The State Emergency Operations Center remains activated due to ongoing wildfires and straight-line winds. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) is in contact with emergency managers across the state and coordinating with agencies and organizations including Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, Oklahoma State Department of Health, Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Oklahoma Forestry Services, Oklahoma Insurance Department, Oklahoma National Guard, the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, National Weather Service, Tribal Nations, Oklahoma Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and others.
FIRE MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE GRANT SECURED
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the state’s request for a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) for the 1170 Road Fire near Sayre in Beckham County.
The FMAG may help reimburse local governments, volunteer fire departments and other first responders for costs associated with responding to the fire. The authorization makes FEMA funding available to reimburse 75 percent of state, local and tribal government eligible firefighting costs for the designated fires. Fire departments and other agencies that responded to the fires above are advised to document all costs related to equipment and supplies (including fuel), labor costs, travel and per diem, temporary repairs of damage caused by firefighting activities, mobilization, and demobilization.
MASS CARE
The American Red Cross supported evacuation shelters in Martha and Sayre earlier today and provided meals for responders in Oklahoma County.

FIRE & WIND REPORTS
Beckham County Emergency Management reported the 1170 Road Fire near Sayre resulted in an evacuation earlier today. A shelter was opened by American Red Cross.
Carter County Emergency Management reports at least 10 fires in western Carter County. Approximately seven volunteer fire departments responded to the fire along with Oklahoma Forestry Services and Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Custer County Emergency Management reports the Dripping Springs Fire east of Arapahoe near the Dripping Springs Boy Scout Camp. Dewey County Fire Task Force and Oklahoma Forestry Services assisted with the fire.
Duncan Emergency Management reported a fire near Duncan this afternoon. One person was injured by a downed power line.
Edmond Emergency Management reports a fire near Arcadia. Oklahoma Forestry Services responded along with Arcadia, Edmond, and Luther fire departments from Oklahoma County and Meridian, Sooner, and Woodcrest fire departments from Logan County.
Jackson County Emergency Management reported a wildfire near Martha. Oklahoma Forestry Services sent ground firefighting resources. Eight fire departments from Jackson County responded along with Ardmore fire. Altus and Beckham County fire departments will continue to work the fire overnight. The Southwest Incident Support Team sent a three-person team to assist.
Love County Emergency Management reports approximately five households were evacuated earlier today due to a fire in northern Love County. Oklahoma Forestry Services and Bureau of Indian Affairs responded. One barn was burned in the fire.
Additional fires were reported in the following counties: Beckham, Canadian, Caddo, Garvin, Grady, Jackson, Kiowa, Major, Murray, Oklahoma, Ottawa, Pawnee, Stephens, Texas, Woods, Woodward.
Antlers Emergency Management reports a nursing home in Antlers had roof damage due to wind. Approximately 35 residents were transported to the Choctaw Nation Nursing Home in Antlers. No injuries are reported.
Davis Emergency Management reported a City of Davis building has minor roof damage due to high winds.
STATE SUPPORT
Oklahoma Forestry Services assisted with 12 uncontained fires and four contained fires.
Oklahoma Department of Transportation reported the following road closures related to the wind and fire conditions:
- SH-36 between SW Holiday Rd and SW Red Elk Rd in Comanche County was closed due to a collision during a dust storm.
- The southbound and northbound lanes of OK-76 at Water Moccasin Road were closed for a large grassfire.
- All lanes of north and southbound I-35 remain closed between Main St. and SH-9E in Norman due to a downed power line.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to tractor-trailers blown over on I-40 and assisted with evacuations, road closures, and traffic control for numerous fires throughout the day. Troopers also provided situational awareness across the state for the State EOC and Oklahoma Forestry Services.
POWER OUTAGES
At the height of the fire activity Sunday, there were more than 25,000 power outages reported statewide.
Currently, there are 8,500 outages remaining. Counties with the highest number of damages are Canadian, Oklahoma, Tulsa, and Cleveland.
