OCC recommends Oklahomans get updates regarding power outages from trusted sources, like their utility provider’s website. The Southwest Power Pool has not issued an energy emergency, so utilities are not implementing any rolling outages at this time.

ROAD CONDITIONS
Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) crews continue to plow snow and treat slick and hazardous conditions across much of the state, including the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas. Drivers should be alert for refreezing and black ice into the evening and overnight hours in areas that appear clear.
ODOT and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority crews across most of the state report snow packed highways, however icy conditions remain in southern and southeastern counties. Highways should be considered slick and hazardous statewide with slick spots and slick elevated surfaces being reported in the Panhandle. Both I-35 and I-40 are slick and hazardous with snow packed surfaces from state line to state line.
Transportation crews will continue winter weather operations until roads are clear, even after the storm has stopped. Snowplow cameras and road conditions may be found at www.okroads.org or on the Drive Oklahoma mobile app.
TRANSPORTATION WAIVERS IN PLACE
Transportation waivers remain in place through the Department of Public Safety and Oklahoma Corporation Commission for the temporary suspension of size and weight limits for oversized vehicles and equipment responding from out of state to assist with power restoration efforts. DPS has also issued declaration that relaxes state administrative rules to allow dealers of liquified petroleum to more easily refill tanks. The waivers will be in effect until 11:59 p.m. CST on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Additionally, the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued a Regional Emergency Declaration providing temporary hours-of-service (HOS) relief for certain motor carriers and drivers due to severe winter storms and extreme cold impacting multiple states. This waiver supports urgent winter emergency response while maintaining overall safety.
