SH-97 intersection improvement project at 81st St. in Sapulpa begins Monday

A more than $2 million intersection improvement project on SH-97 begins Monday at 81st St. in Sapulpa. Starting Monday, north and southbound SH-97 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction near 81st St through summer 2024. The project will modify the existing intersection to incorporate J-Turns, closing the current median excecpt for left turns from SH-97 to 81st, and installing nearby median U-turn locations to provide safer access points for traffic to turn or cross the highway.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded the contract for this project to Grade Line Construction LLC. in October 2023.
